    that's their "get away from it - it's MINE" noise! the noise is "caused" by them not wanting to share food. They aren't vicious as such...well not to humans anyway. They're rather shy little animals as far as we're concerned, but I wouldn't want to be lying in the forest unconcious! It's probably why the bodies of lost bushwalkers are never recovered....

    they are not "pigs"...they are tasmanian devils. The Devil is a scavenger (i.e. eats dead things) who lives in the wonderous Tasmanian Old Growth Forests. They're in a lot of trouble from a very nasty disease at the moment - somewhere between 50 and 80% have died in the past 8 years...
