man i have no idea why i like shadow much more. hes just way cooler. he has a shot gun i guess. and sonic always brags about himself and always doesnt take things seriously. and shadow is just, well, hes just really really awesome and hes more detailed than sonic.

i think its a reference to the evil -pure evil ending when shadow takes over the world after killing sonic or its a reference to sonic being to weak leaving shadow as the only hope to save humanity
