16mm B&W home movies of various Cardinals and Bears games in 1929. Includes the Green Bay Lumberjack Band (although the film is silent). Games played in Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field (old configuration).
This film is worth submitting to the Hall of Fame. Contact Joe Horrigan if he is still historian there. Most significant footage. Thanks for posting.
By BEERZGOOD5 [Affiliate User] 1212354606OK, I see the confusion. This film shows several games. The only Bears game is shown in the last few seconds, and is played in Wrigley. The Cardinals play several opponents and it is not possible to tell who they are from the jerseys, although the Green Bay Lumberjack band makes it clear that Green Bay is the opponent in one game.
It would be great if one of the games was the famous Nevers game, but I can't find any clue that shows that any of the Comiskey games includes the Bears.
If that is in fact the 1929 Cardinals-Bears game at Comiskey Park, then it was the Nevers 40-point game, according to the records.

By johnmeyer77 [Affiliate User] 1203981086Great video. This was indeed the game where Ernie Never scored all 40 points (6 TDs and 4 PATs. The crowd was between 7,000 and 8,000.
