beckham's arrival will get the average joe in america to get interested in soccer (at least when becks visits) and that is just the kind of publicity boost the MLS can use to boost the new higher quality product it's rolling out.

so that sounds like a pretty good reason to come to america. becks will be more respected here than he ever was in spain.

The problem is people like you putting down soccer in America. Or maybe people are scared that America will one day get good at soccer? I think thats the real reason. But I'd like to see New York Red Bulls, or the the LA Galaxy in a few months time, play Sparta Moscow, or Dynamo Moscow, or Loko. I dont think those teams are that good. Moscow is a great city, but soccer there S**ks .
