This is a clip of a TV show running one of the popular channels watched by middleclass in the Thailand. While walking through a small street I came across people watching this sitting just out side of their house, I shot this with my mobile camera hence the quality is bit poor. What struck me was that though they were mocking on old time popular bollywood songs in Thailand, at the same time they were trying to use some kind of classical dance moves with also made it quite funny, though almost correct lyrics they got remembered . Shows that how popular these songs and movies were during 60s to 80s. It is noteworthy that almost no one apart from very few South Asians and Indian community living in Thailand watches Bollywood movies in these times, an average Thai person would hardly have any idea what a bollywood movies are like. However there still some remains of old time blockbuster hits from Bollywood of that time. In these last 3 years I have often came across taxi drivers and boat drivers in their mid 40s singing Sholay songs and talking about Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini but they dont have any idea about Shahrukh khan or Aishwarya Rai which most of the people living in India think is most sold and known bollywood actors abroad.
