  • I think you're ...

I think you're wrong, maartenhonderd, 'cause every musical piece has, almost, two dificulties. One of them is, obviously, the technique. The other, and the most 'untouchable' is the interpretation of the piece, to reach the musicality.

A tremolo is a sound effect that conduces to the musicality, but it's only a tool, not the top of the hill. A tool that suppose a great effort for the guitar player 'til the point that seems easy to play it and the music can flow from the guitar.

  • Bullshit, each ...

Bullshit, each tremolopiece is in it's essention meant as a study, and therefore artisticaly not to be considered seriously.

  • I like Azabagic's ...

I like Azabagic's version better as well, but I think you have to consider the setting. The guitar loses something when it is played in a large concert hall because the player has to give up some sensitivity in order to project.
    Just my thoughts.

Recuerdos is nice but this piece is more melodic and very moving when played well. Azabagic's rendition is worth checking out.

I have to agree that Azabagic does a nicer rendition of this. This may just have been an off day for JW. It's always harder in front of a crowd. People do tend to speed up when under pressure.
