just dont use the telephone all together instead try to put your hand on top of his head its an easyer grip and provides more leverage and control

to any other MMA fighters out there instead of reaching back to your ear i suggest pyiing your hand on the opponnts head to control the swivel movent of the neck it works much better for me

awesome stuff!!! BJJ is so cool and effective, plus you really don't have to beat the guy up, just choke him until he submits.1 of my teachers told me that the key to understanding BJJ is to pretend that you are a spider monkey that is imitating a boa constrictor.

Has anyone ever heard of a "front naked choke" - like an arm triangle choke, without the opponent's arm in the way ?

I know it is not allowed in competition, but neither are heel hooks, and there are vids of heel hooks.

why is he using the telephone?- because the grip is really tight,,with it.. if you just grasp by the hands ..you can choke him but..the grip is harder to hold on to....what you wanna do is be able to keep the grip while using the other guys arm to choke his OWN CAROTID ARTERY. I like using the grasping hands(naked choke)to the telefone and forehead thing. if i lose grip..i do it again or sumtin different. heck even to leg!
