  • Well done, Dan! ...

Well done, Dan! That was highly informative and entertaining. I grew up about 2 miles from Ken Brock Manufacturing in Garden Grove California. My dad and I used to peer into Ken's shop window on the weekends and fantasize about owning one of his beautiful machines. I intend to make that a reality in the near future. Your video was inspiring. Thanks again!

  • He mentions in the ...

He mentions in the video that the prop is in the back partially to wash the rudder. Very important at low speed. Even in a Cessna 152 flying at 45 knots (just about stalled) the controls are a lot less effective, so imagine an autogyro flying at 5 knots. You'd get no reaction at all!

  • You can see that ...

You can see that the overall mass of the gyro must is suspended and balanced from the rotor mast. In the classic pull design the gyro needed a longer tail to balance the large motor mass and supporting structure placed relatively far from the mast. Also a push design frees the front and gives you increased visibility on approach and touch down.

Great video. Why are there fewer tractor gyros in existance? I think a tractor looks better.
