When the Enzo came out it was only $600k, not 1 million. They cost that much now cuz they only made 400, and only 399 were ever sold.

The GT has an MSRP of $125-150k, while the enzo is in the range of $600-700k. where do you think all that money went? the Ferrari is hand crafted to higher tolerances than the ford, and has more engine and suspension technology. All of that costs money, which is why the enzo is four times more expensive than the gt.

and so that extra money is buying the hand craftsmanship, which leads to a better car- which means that more money buys a better car- what a shock!!!

Ford in total probably spent more money making the GT than Ferrari did with the Enzo (not that I'm saying that the Enzo was made cheap) and if they didn't then thats sad.

You obviously don't get what I mean when I say Ferrari is a small company. Ferrari, being a small company, has to spend more money to build something than Ford, which being a big company does. Thats the reason Ferrari and other exotics are so expensive. The upside is that every Ferrari is tended to individually rather than a machine building it.

lets see- R&T came up with a draw- the American cars winning some and the European cars winning some. Then they also note that the European cars cost more. They state that the F430 was the clear winner of the European cars, not the overall best- as they put it, "There's no clear winner." When you consider the price difference, and the fact that the American cars are cheaper, that's kind of sad.

maybe you can explain how the gt's msrp of $125-150K are equal to the F430's at $175-200k?

The Enzo had an asking price upwards to a million dollars, so Ferrari had more to invest in building it.

And if you read R&T's article with the F430, 911, Gallardo, Z06, Viper and the GT, you will see that the GT was man-handled by the Euro cars and was even beaten by the Corvette and the Viper. The F430 outclassed the whole field. All this info comes from your source BTW.

Actually the GT is pretty much on par with the F430 in price. I'm not talking about the Enzo, because the Ford just doesn't compare to it. And chances are that more money was spent of the GT than the Enzo. Ferrari is a small company while Ford is one of the biggest in the world. Even if Ford was tight with its money, hundreds of millions probably went into the GT project. And the results are good, because I like the car.

Also, keep in mind that the F430 is $25-50k more than the GT.

The Ford GT does 205, the Gallardo does 195...how is that a 30 mph difference. The Gallardo's 0-60 is 4.0 secs while the GT does it in 3.5-3.6. Thats not a full second. Get your figures straight.

The Ford GT competitor is the F430 and the F430 is a much better car to drive. It revs higher, is way more exciting and much more engaging than the GT. Speedwise, they can both be argued to be faster as I have seen mags which did faster times with one over the other.
