Lawrence found my reason not to bother her. Her eyes flicker at the sight of girls pointing at her figure; flesh standing out, perceptible to every eye in the room. Kellan hoots, Paul laughs; Beth nudges Julie and Melissa's fingers coil to take hold of her drink as her skirt straightens up along with her. Her walk is trained, not natural; mirroring the one of every single female student of Clambake High.....with the exclusion of her.

Melissa's drink seeps into her clothes but she walks out with a genuinely bold smile. She was not ashamed; disturbed, that was true, but not a coward.

"Joe, I dare you to make Demi Lovato a knockout for the graduation," Marc's voice rings throughout the cafeteria and applause comes in the form of knives and plates clinking against each other.

"We ALL dare you to do that, Joe Jonas," Beth calls out.

I dare not let my smile fall. That was not permitted in the population of this school. My smirk is half authentic as I accept the challenge with a nod and another round of applause began with Kellan and Paul hooting in my ear and I push them away flippantly. I walk out as the study hall ended as well as another week of school.

Demi Lovato is a sixteen year old junior at our high school. One thing about Clambake High women is that every single one of them is alike; mere candle sticks. Not an ounce of fat ever lands on them. Their meals consist of celery and monthly pizza. Demi is true to herself and an excellent student. Every day, remarks of other students must pinch her but she keeps a smile plastered on her face; one thing she has in common with me. Her legs are contorted perfectly but the excess of fat hides her curves. She is not outrageously obese; just like a thumb with pinkies.

I was never attracted to the junior. Being a senior, I took notice of only girls in my grade and pretty younger ones that gawked at me whenever I walked by. I was well aware of her presence but laugh along when a good joke came along...one that concerned her.

I watch as she steps into her mother's car. Mine follows her till her mother leaves to work, I suppose. Demi dumped her bag inside before stepping in her backyard. I park my car in her driveway and walk after her. Her eyes globe as she sees my figure standing in front of hers.

"What do you want? If this is about the dare, and yes I heard about it, I am not interested," Demi says her voice loud and clear.

"You don't want to be a knockout?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Let's get this thing straight. I'm happy the way I am. My goal in life is not to be the most gorgeous girl in the world," Her eyes shoot me a practical glare.

I walk forward but she doesn't back away. She is not dramatic. She isn't easy to crack but not one to play hard to get...she just simply is not interested in my looks and the way I can spellbound the other girls.

"If you're really as thickskulled as I think you are, I'll shout it out for you. GET LOST!" She was worse than my friends at ruining my eardrum.

"What IS your goal in life?" I ask.

"It doesn't concern you." This girl is cute.

"I am simply asking," I close my eyes to display I am not interested in any more nonsense.

"I want people to stop judging a person from the outside and it's not just because of me. Many people are not let into movies just because they're fat or some can only be playback singers and are not permitted to throw a concert because they aren't pretty. Talents go to waste and I don't want that," Demi said, her face scrunched up in disgust. What disgusted her? I was not sure.

"Do you know how to pursue your goal?" I ask
