    Actually, I didn't happen upon it by accident. Youtube posted it with their top videos or suggested videos.

    As far as why I am as I am, it is not about "challenges of life". It is about a lack of any discernable "relationship", which is what people are supposed to have (if you're a christian), a relationship that has been absent in my life for far too many years to just "accept it by faith". I appreciate what you are saying, I may have even believed it at one time in the past. No more.

    Are you counting on your works for God to here you or are Sincerely following him in every aspect of your Life? Are you born again? Only those who are born again will see the kingdom of heaven. Doing bible studys, Praying, and Reflection doesn't make you a Christian. A christian is someone who accepts Jesus Christ as their savior. Prayer life and Bible study help you grow as a christian, they don't make you a christian.

    I don't "hear God" in anything. "God" has been absent from my life, even when I was a sincere Christian. Prayer life, bible study, reflection, . . . I pretty much always left feeling that I was by my self the entire time. "Prayers" were just my own thoughts in my head, going nowhere. "Faith" is unreal to me. It has left me dissatisfied. I can't have "faith" that some diety is listening to me when there is no "two way street". I'm just not equiped for "faith".

    You may be right that our prayers are words but what makes the difference is the faith that we have that God will answer it in one way or another.You need to realize that the ultimate answer to the prayer may not be what we want but it will always be what is God's will.Even if your prayers don't comnfort you when times are bad,God does listen and comforts us in His own way.You just have to learn how to listen to Him when he speaks.

    Yes, of course, there is no "magic dispensing machine" in the other realm. But they are still just words. . . . sometimes people take comfort in speaking words that ultimately are . . . just words. I've recently become agnostic. Having once been a christian, I realized that all my searching produced no fruit. My prayers were. . .again, just words. They didn't even produce a comfort when times went south, like I was told they would. Yes, even words happen for (no) reason.
