the F-14 was retires not the F-18, the F-18 will be with us to complement the fleet of f-35's At 3:07 it shows a great demonstration of the F-18's far superior "Alpha" (lingo for angle of attack ) It has great resistance to high angles and because of it this thing can really woop butt in a dogfight. This plane is why my Air Force buddies get embarrased up there.

Nah, F-18 is a Navy bird. F-22 is for the Air Force. The F-35 is
going into the Navy though.

Good reply. If our European allies would ever need some help there will be F-18s, F-22s, and Euro-Fighters proudly flying missions together. If the guys who strap themselves to bombs ever get their sneaky hands on an advanced fighter then we'll be concerned about which plane is really better. Until then it's all in good fun.

Yeah we all love the F-14. Stats wise it can beat the F-18 in almost every category. But it's more expensive to run the F-14

Well it may be a far cry from a raptor which of course is the most advanced fighter, but you have to admit the superhornet is quite advanced in its multirole capabilities and it is different than F18A in many aspects. And how can you not love the one of the most legendary dogfighter of all times? I have a small obsession with F14's :). Its all good, Peace.

In some areas, sure (range, avionics, weapons load, etc.). Though some might argue that the smaller A remains the better dogfighter.
