    This film was great. For a low budget DTV film, it has great visuals, a lot of fun action scenes, and the political satirizing humor. If you don't like it, well fine, but if you don't like this film, why bother posting a comment? That is kicking a dead horse.

    It's meant to be satire, the federation embraces christianity because people are less willing to follow their facist political doctrine, so they pick up a facist religious doctrine for them to follow instead. There was no religion in the previous films, presumably because they assume humanity will grow out of the whole invisible friend phase in the future.

    Part of the reason for the acceptance of religion in the movie was to promote a fundamentalist mentality. To not fear death and to give your life willingly without question.

    The Admiral mentioned that bugs have the right idea and that it is the greatest weapon you can have because they do not question anything or fear death. "Bug Religion" can also be associated with this which is why the Sky Marshal gave all without question including his own life.

    Sky Marshal was a great actor btw.

    I swear some christian rights group bought out rights to this movie and developed the third one. They prolly waived donated money in front of the guy who played Johnny Rico and he accepted to pay for his coke addiction (he looked strung out in this movie). Don't watch this at all costs. Its that bad. I loved the first one. I burnt my copy of the second one and thank god I rented the third one. Save yourself its not too late!
