  • I know what you ...

I know what you mean - I saw this on cable TV one Saturday night when I was 11 or 12. The next day my mom took me to my grandparents' house and she kept asking me to go down in the basement to get her a beer. Trouble was in the den down there there were no light switches, only lamps that you had to find in the dark to turn on. You can imagine what was going through my mind...

  • Like josh said, ...

Like josh said, PETA or the other animal rights groups weren't watching over films yet in '77. By the time Steven Spielberg and his crew made "Arachnophobia", however, movies did have to get the blessing of animal rights people and thus there were far less "casualties" on that set. Actually several spiders get killed on-screen in this one, some by accident but most on purpose.

  • Ooooh, I remember ...

Ooooh, I remember when I saw this for the first time. I was just a kid and watched it one summer while at my folk's cottage where there was always a spider or two around. It was tough going to sleep that night. LOL If you like these 70's freaky films, another very good one is called "Frogs" (1972). I really enjoy these trips down memory lane and hope you do, too!

  • If this is the one ...

If this is the one that ends with the entire town covered in spider webs, then this is the movie that caused my fear of tarantulas and large spiders!

This came out in 1977. I don't think they were watching over 15,000 different spiders.
