No...I remember the Bobby Goldsboro version - AND the O.C Smith version. They both did the song, just like Little Green Apples was recorded by more than one artist...but thanks for the reminder - it was a great song...

You're thinking of Bobby Golsboro who sang "Honey" a Number One record in 1968.The great writer Bobby Russell wrote this song and Honey.I always loved Honey although the critics don't like it.Forget the critics.

Was playing in the car when we going to bury my Grandmother. So I always think of her when this plays.

this is a very important song to my family. My Great-grandfather played this every morning when my grandfather was little. We play this at every family event now and it makes everyone extremely emotional.

This song is just that, the essence of innocence, it truly reminds me of when life was so simple, and so innocent, knowing no hate, prejudice, racism, child abuse, drug addiction, greed, arrogance, none of these, or any other negative issues that stain our society today. Children of today wouldn't appreciate a song like this because their innocence is taken from them so early in a lot of instances, incredible song, R.I.P. O.C.

I was 4 when this came out. I still remember seeing the 45 spin on omy mothers Sears Silver Tone Console Stereo and how pretty I thought the lyrics and melody were. It was so visual. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking me back to the innocence of my childhood whoever you are. You will never know how much this means to me.
