    I think you missed my & David's point. Plenty of women do wear necklaces b/c they think the necklaces look nice or b/c they think they will look nice wearing a particular necklace. But that's all on the conscious level. The *unconscious* reason women wear necklaces (& make-up/sexy clothing & haircuts, etc.) is to draw attention to themselves. If a woman didn't want ppl to notice her breasts, she could have them reduced through surgery or tightly bound as the flapper girls of 1920's America did.
