Iran's state television reported that a drone belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) had managed to spy on a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf waters.

    This wasn't so much a spy operation as it was a PR stunt, and it has worked over the years, Iran has kept the US at bay since the hostage crisis because of its deterrence capabilities.
