All hail the Concorde!! The superbird of the skies. It's such a shame it doesn't fly anymore. Not to mention no other commerical airplane in the world took it's place after it stopped flying.

The crash was only a part of the reasons why they took it off the sky. Consecutive supersonic travel made the outer skin thinner, and overall the plane was too expensive to maintain and caused money loss...a Concorde still stands at Manchester for viewing and others are at a museum.

you are wrong jonnyk5614, Concorde already on air before Airbus is form. Concorde lose it sales after Boeing 747 invented for more quiet, economical and more range than Concorde. At the same time, British Aircraft Corporation (BAC)join other aerospace manufacturer and formed Airbus.

After the accident, France announced that they would not renew the type approval when it was due. This was because Airbus (part state run) was worried about competition from Concorde. The accident was the perfect excuse they needed.

When you go out to have adventures do you really think you will die? If people thought that all the time, they would never have any fun!

Actually, a few days ago a British Airways stewardess came in and said it was because, after the crash, no people were buying tickets as they were a bit scared/ put off b the crash.

i afraid your wrong, concorde did Not stop because of the crash, 100s of aircraft crash nd then dont ground them, it stoped because it costed to much to run and people didnt really nead it, it was amazing though
