I was getting ready to come home from Korea in May 1971 when I heard this song for the first time. It's still as fresh every time I hear it.

One of my all time fav melancholy song. Every time I hear it, even now, I get a nostalgic feeling. Years back, I recorded on an entire cassette tape of this song only, so that I did not have to rewind the tape.

however, this clip I noticed (when you reach the part-LOL) he changed a
word on the line that goes:

I never *thought* I could feel this way... 2:04

He used "knew" and again on for the repeat on 3:08

Oh well, I guess Gordon thought it was time for something knew (pun)

For sure he was our history just can remember all the birthday parties, weddings, and funerals and here is Lightfoot still cranking it out and I feel older than him LOL

Some nights I turn up this song loud on my home entertain stereo turn out all the lights in my lakehouse and sit on the terrace and just look out on the lake and just melt away. It`z Cazual. Life is good that way -S
