Angie Dickinson was over 40 when she made this movie. Women then over 40 just didn't look as good as her, although now women in their 40s look fantastic. She was way ahead of the curve.

It's interesting how the youth of today dress similarly to the 1970's clothing styles and have similar hairstyles as well.

I grew up and attended school in the suburban San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California (yes, THAT San Fernando Valley, where the Valley Girls are!) and the dress code for girls was clear: No miniskirts, no shorts, no halter tops, no "peekaboo" clothing, no bare midriffs.

If girls were dressing like that at your high school, all I can say is you guys in Hawaii were lucky sons of bitches!

I was in my high school senior year in 1971, and I can tell you girls weren't allowed to dress like that for school! 1979's "Rock and Roll High School" has a similar opening sequence.

Also Keenan Wynn, William Campbell (who had two roles in the original Star Trek series) and Roddy McDowall, who at that time seemed to show up in EVERYTHING.

So in the original novel, the character wore FOUR hats? I always thought it a bit strange that in the movie, he was both the football coach and the guidance counselor. Figured it must be a REALLY small-town school!

I always wanted to know what high school that was, where all the kids (of both sexes) look like teen models. Whatever you think of Vadim's talents as a film director, he certainly had an eye for beauty.
