"Chants" like any Sound of Music has a Purpose. Here the Chant is for Spiritual Enlighment. It's a Connection to the Supreme
Being...Many call it: G-d, Yah, El, Alli, and so on

So, if you are New to this Discipline...STOP...and Get a Master to Guide you through Simple ways to Approach this Discipline.
It's Not you Do over Night...

From a Medical View Point, you are Correct...
However, you need a "Guider/Master" to get you into the Subject of Sound( Chanting) as Practice by Masters.
If you are Not Properly Prepare for What you are attempting to Practice , you are going to encounter problems.
1. The Sounds will be Within your Inner Ear all the time.
2. You may Start Hearing Sounds that appear to be words.
3. You will Not be Able to Concentrate on your job....or Daily Chores.

Curious to understand what the background is of the commentators. I don't see any masters, but some students.
Maybe you be kind to explain to the public why sound is an important element of transformation.
Some socalled professional doctors in this western civilisation state that people who work with sound, have a serious mental disease, and therefore need to be controlled permanently. Students know that such dominant behaviour is an illness of the mind.

You will be amazed as I can,t start the day without saying "Good Morning Master" and play this video.

i can do this type of singing just my breath control is kind of horrible but i can still get as deep and achieve that same sound.
