Uhm, bluebus270 quote me to where I said I have the answers to everything. I'm giving you a general statement of why things are the way they are in this world. Oh, and please don't make that assumption that I "don't question the way of the Lord" because I do. I do get my answers, and some I will still wait patiently for. I don't know why you insist on using religion to vent out your frustrations of animals eating each other, but I will continue to keep responding should you have more comments.

do you really think big cats kill prey first in an effort to be kind? they kill first because they really can't afford to get injured by flailing hooves, especially cheetah's. injury could mean starvation. if big cats were as tough as hyena's I'm sure they'd massively reduce the risk of having kills stolen by others and eat their well earned prey alive. either way, having a massive pair of teeth sink into your neck to be slowly choked to death isn't an attractive way to go either.

And like most smug Jesus lovers, they have an answer for everything. Still, it beats "don't question the way of the Lord, my child".

I like my meat fresh, but I've got to admit, they've got me beat. That's a little TOO fresh.

Reason why hyenas eat their prey alive is simple:

They can't afford to waste time, the risk of lions drawing in is too high. They're only/main strength IS their jaws.

bluebus270, hello again, it's called "sin" that has stained our world since the fall of mankind. We humans in different parts of the world, who don't have refrigerators have to disenbowel animals while their still alive in order to keep the blood pumping to keep the meat still fresh. We westerners are no exception as well...anybody here eats veal?

Too right this IS nature. Hyenas kill and eat animals - accept it, deal with it, then get over it!

it is hard to watch, but I think hyena's eat their prey alive because they can't afford to waste any time. lions could come along at any point and steal the kill. I think the big cats choke their prey because they can't afford to get injured by flailing hooves. hyena's are extremely tough so don't have to worry about that as much. that's what I think anyway. judging from the amount of times a cheetah has it's kill stolen, I'm sure they'd save time and eat their prey alive if they could.

you can't interfere with nature. it's the golden rule of filming wildlife. the whole purpose is to see how animals are in their natural enviroment. if people start jumping in to help animals then how are we ever going to learn about true wildlife?

some people out there are out of their minds. this is wildlife and that's the way it is. if it bothers you don't watch it. leave nature alone.
