    I can't see how the barrel could pick up radioactivity from the bomb or firing. Even if its "activated" by neutrons from the not so far away explosion, it still would not be too radioactive for soldiers who just hung out for a detonation in the field. And why in this world would you bury it in battle, when you just nuked something downrange?
    As for being a waste of money, these things likely advanced the production of smaller, more efficient nukes.

    An utterly pointless weapon...it needed a whole convoy of trucks and a full battalion of men to operate...and it was so big that the Soviets knew where it was all the time.

    I mean, it's still cool...it's a nuclear firing cannon, the engineering behind that is impressive...but what's the point when you can drop a much larger bomb from a B52?

    Firstly this isn't fake, however these weapons aren't used in testing and were never used in combat. After firing, the barrel has to be removed and buried because of the radiation (hence them not being practical to be used in warfare). Because it's simply not safe for the soldiers around the weapon to fire it twice, you can't put it on a battlefield. It's just a dumb idea and not what artillery is meant to do anyway.

    It was a stupid waste of American money.

    Sorry to say this but this video is fake...

    First of all an atomic device can't be fired out of an artillary cannon!

    The pictures of the buses and cars were from the test of the atomic bomb at the end of the manhatten project.

    Third if you notice the origanal mushroomcloud does not match the ones at the end

    Finnaly common sence! That gun would have been destroyed in teh first three seconds of a nuclear explosion. Especially if its that close to the detonation point!
