I believe F0 - F12 was Ted Fujita's original scale based on mathematical calculations as you say, but the likelihood of a tornado going above the F5/F6? rating, would be an extremely rare event, hence why it was shortened to F5, but with F6 being "Inconcievable".

I think that the new scale is simialr to the Torro Scale here in the UK, which is based T0 - T10

i remember mixing fear and fascination when I saw this tornado forming outside the city. my house was completely destroyed and i lost a cousin and his parents in this tornado so F**k you bonefesto "theres no F5 ever" my family suffered the biggest loss one person can take

I lived near Lexington then, the sky was purple and red that day. When the live feeds came in from the news, a transformer would blow, seconds later my lights flashed. you study them but don't know what the F scale means ? The F scale rating is based SOLEY on damage. The wind speeds are an educated ESTIMATE in 99.9 % of all tornados. The only way to get an accurate, and that's only +/- 20mph is with a Doppler On Wheels. The F scale is a DAMAGE scale, period.

i remember seeing that tornadoe when i lived in oklahoma i was nine yrs old. it was sad my ant lost two dogs in that tornadoe. i think i still well my ant still has some pics that she took of it. i still have nightmares of this tornadoe too.

I lived in moore during that day, the tornado didn't hit my house but about 2 miles away it ripped apart the area.

ye i lived in south oklahoma city when that tornado happened, i think i was like 12-13 it was scary, luckily it didnt hit me, but after that,my ass moved to the north side haha btw moore is 5 miles south of oklahoma city
