This is from episode S01E14 "The Countdown" as its New Year's Eve and time is running out before the new year begins. Ryan rushes to find Marissa after they had fought over the fact that Ryan said "thank you" after Marissa accidentally told him that she loved him, earlier that day and spent New Year's Eve apart. Meanwhile, Seth finds comfort with the new girl Anna as Summer realizes how much she misses him. Finn Quayle & William Orbit's song "Dice" is a perfect fit, as Ryan rushes up those steps to get to Marissa before the clock strikes 12....

    I remember watching the first episode of the O.C. I was totally hooked. However, I stopped watching a few episodes after marisa died n it got a bit crappy in general. Kinda regret it now, I wanna watch all the old good ones.
