Uechi Ryu Karate Do

hello. I'm practising shito ryu but I would like to begin uechi ryu. I would like to ask something about. The students in uechi ryu are they practising the point system karate or are they training for full condact matches?

Its interesting to see how many people actually practice this martial art. Im a student under Sensei Allen Bentley here in Myakka City, Florida

do practice any form of iron body conditioning?

hi, :) i am very interested in the uechi ryu style. but i wonder about some things. first, i come from a shotokan style. very little grappling is used as my sensi believed in striking gard,fast,and then getting away. would i be able to carry this over to uechi ryu,or is there a lot of grappling ?

i am a practitioner of uechi ryu and a member of the karate organization Ji Teki Jeku and am now training with Master Ken Nakamatsu during his trip to florida. you forgot to say that the three katas you mentioned are just the katas brought over from china by Kanbun. Kanbun never actually finished his training in china.

There is a guy named Bill Adams who is a 4th degree black belt. He teaches in Melrose, MA and is my teacher. He learns from Buzz Durkin,soon to be a 9th degree and who was a student of George Mattson.
