Bill Maher "Religulous" on Jimmy Kimmel Live Part 1 10-2-08

Jimmy Kimmel has a very ummmm.... childlike giggle don't he?

I think he doesn't declare himself an atheist because people think atheism is believing there is no god. This would be a logical fallacy because you can't prove a negative. It's pretty much just splitting hairs.

People like Dawkins are known to be atheists. I happen to think they are known as atheists for DAMN good reason! i.e. they are without (a) belief in god (theism).

But Maher is irresponsibly attacking their reputation. That will bias people against books/opinions from known 'atheists'.

It's fine to think that the well-known critics of religion and god should from now on call themselves agnostic but don't separate yourself from your own allies.

Look at Maher's interviews with fellow atheists!

the meaning of the word atheist seems to be changing, its just semantics, i could care less.

no he said he agreed with jesus's philosophy of love and forgiveness, he didn't say the bible. he is well aware of the bible's backwardness, mainly the old testament.

He knows he's atheist, he knows it doesn't mean you're certain. He's just being politically expedient. I wish he wouldn't.

The stigma of being sure of yourself. He's avoiding the "you're just as intolerant as us" argument.

He says he's agnostic, and I understand where he's coming from, but if he did a bit more research he'd find he's much more in line with atheism. Love the guy though anyways!!!

andid: if the man says he's agnostic and not atheist, i'd believe him. maher has already been X'd by the religious fundamentalists - what stigma would he be afraid of?

BIBLE is jus a good book filled with good stories

I saw the movie last night. It was a packed house and the crowd went nuts. This movie is hilarious.
I'm wondering if i'm going to think it is as great and as funny if i watch it alone without a crowd to laugh along with me.

I love Bill Maher's sense of humor.

Agnostic doesn't mean you aren't sure what happens when we die, it means you aren't sure there's a God. God, as in a religious God that created the universe. Bill Maher is an atheist who is afraid of the stigma. Agnostic gives equal weight to both sides, when let's be honest, the physical evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of one.

Bill is truth.
