Rare Early Video of Tammy Faye

I have to say watching old clips of Tammy Faye (I'd only recently heard and read about her) she used to be a very attractive young woman. Certainly more attractive than Jessica Hahn imho! When she was older though unfortunately she started to look more and more like a drag queen, and will be remembered with the over the top image, not the cute, fresh faced all American girl of the past. A shame, but a fascinating life story!

To continue my above comment in respons eto the people thinking she was admitting being high, Tammy Faye most certainly WAS high on several drugs at various points in her tv career trying to cope with depression, as highlighted in several documentaries and texts, but this isn't one of those occasions, it's a far happier time, before the unfortunate problems in her marriage, life and career that made her so depressed.

She doesn't say "It's just the drugs" she says "In (your) chest of draws". Shes laughing because she said to put soap "in your draws" and then realized afterwards that it sounded like she meant put it in your underwear, hence why she re-iterated "chest of draws", as in the piece of furniture. Jim was embarrassed at the potentially "crude" thought and worried that the audience might be offended, and thats why he tried to keep going and ignore the comedy of the situation.

Grew up watching the Bakkers, the 80's scandal was heartbreaking. They say things happen for a reason, but If JIM didnt stray from christ, maybe Tamy would still be here today

I found this video by accident. My Nana used to unwrap all the Zest soap to make it last longer, but she didn't hear it on the show. I remember watching t.v. one time when I only got two channels... Tammy was making some king of candy with leftover mashed potatoes and confectioner's sugar. I must look for that recipe online. ;)

They are a riot! The first time I saw the PTL club we thought we were watching a Saturday Night Live skit. They are so off the rails and they don't even realize it. Religion is such a warping influence of people's minds, kinda like drugs!

You know, I may not have agreed with everything Tammy said or did, but I must admit that I truly admired and respected her for how she faced the trials in her life. I think her and Jim were sincere people who let things get away from them, and any of us are prone to do. She faced her illness like a true Christian, leaning on the Lord right up to the end. RIP Tammy!
