  • Making an "s" is an ...

    Making an "s" is an old swimming technique, not as affective anymore and certainly not effective if you want to go to swim meets/tournaments. As your stretching your arm you have to bend your wrist in (to grab), then bend the elbow area and push back. Its true you dont have to move your shoulder area like crazy, imagine a stick is through you, but the roatation IS coming from the hips , chest.

    Im sorry but this is incorrect. First, ur head is not supposed to be completley facing the bottom of the pool, its best for it to be lifted just a little bit where your not stressing any muscles and you can watch a bit of your technique, under the water of course. 2, rotation is a fundamental part of the style but coming from the hip area. 3, you dont breath as your pulling, you breath at the time you are finishing your pull and as u rotate, looking kind of diagnolly and not to the imediate side
