Probably the only place in the world that would inspire me to leave Colorado would be Alaska!
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked the video. I used to dance to the beat of the White Tail Singers from North Carolina... eons ago. Nothing gets my heart pumping like the beat of a native drum.
And thank you buckskinrose for your service to our country, as well as your son and family. My husband who is Hopi/Maricopa is retired Army. He used to dance and was part of the Honor Guard for the Eagle Warriors at Fort Bragg. My son is currently stationed in Iraq. This is his second tour, and it hasn't gotten any easier this time around.
As a former dancer myself it has always touched my heart at the way the Native culture... ALL native tribes pay such high honor to their veterans.
Really great video. linked it up to myspace type in mama_grover and you should be able to find it.
Grew up in Denver, have been in Alaska since 1989, I sit at a pow wow drum it is Soaring Eagle Drum. Type in soaringeagledrum (one word) and you should be able to find it.
stop by if you want.
this is one of the most awesome videos I have seen. Great job... I am a native vet, my son and many members of my family. Thank you

I wanted to wait until the traditional competitions were over (those are my favorite dances) but I had to work the next morning at 4am. They had some nice shirts there this year but all I got was a coffee mug. My son got a teeshirt that reads "I'm half white but I can't prove it".
By dornbrau [Affiliate User] 1184139134 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThank you Phyllis. I wish I could convey the atmosphere of the pow wow. There's something about it, when the drums are beating, the singers singing and the bells ringing that just reaches into one's soul. There's nothing quite like it.
