  • the 100 id louder ...

the 100 id louder than the 50 but i wouldnt say twice as loud. personally i own the 100 and it is insanely loud especially once u get up to 8-10. as for the 50, it would break up earlier but its not very important on this amp because of all of the gain options you already have. you can get any kind of distortion and tube tone at bedroom volumes. hope this helped -JC

I was told my DSL 50 wouldn't sound good below 5 or 6 in volume. The nay-sayers were all wrong. It sounds surprisingly good to me.

  • Tube amps have ...

Tube amps have tubes in the pre amp and post amp. and valve state most of the time has just one tube in the preamp and a solidstate post amp, or speaker however you wanna call it.. A full tube amp is best of course... No way you can deny that.

yes, tube (valve, watever you call it) amps tend to take pedals a lot better than SS amps. not always though, the roland jazz chorus is solid state but its perfect for taking pedals

  • accually they have ...

accually they have a solid state pre-amp with a single 12ax7 in there to try to shape and color the tone to sound "tube" and i think they do a pretty good job of it. but if you use the effects loop it loses any tube characteristics it had. still cool amps though.
