This is my version of the TLOCS pre-ride inspection. I am in no means an expert, this is just what works for me. The TCLOCS is a pre-ride inspection checklist for safety. Most people don't realize motorcycles don't have the "backup" or "extra" safety features that cars do. For example: 4 tires, metal "Crash cage", etc. You only have two wheels, and two brakes to help protect you. This is what I check before each ride. Also note: If you don't have a stand, when checking tires, just check what you see, roll forward a few spokes, and do that a few times. I know some people have different versions, all you need is a version that works for you.

  • Thanks for the vid, ...

Thanks for the vid, I am going to be getting one of these in about 4 or 5 days. I was wondering what your build is, and how you feel on it. I'm kinda a big guy (6'4, 170), would I be good on a 650? Or would I have to go bigger?

Awesome, I may get one. I love the styling of the 250r, but I want the power of the 500r, which is sadly not an attractive bike :(. I like the power, and the looks of the 650r, but I heard its too big for a beginner, but your info has been quite helpful.

Thanks, and keep the vids coming!

  • If you take the MSF ...

If you take the MSF basic rider's course, and respect the bike, it's fine. It's a two-cylinder 649cc. Enough power for fun, and it's a little more forgiving. I don't mess around on it personally, but it's enough power to have fun, but not too torquey to get into trouble. Either case, if you haven't taken the MSF course, do it. Worth every penny. I rode trail bikes for about 3 years, and I learned so much there. Even someone who rode 15 years said he learned stuff there.

What about power? I know its got it, and I know it is fast, but is it easily manageable? How eager is the bike to launch? Basically what I am asking is, is it a beginners bike, or will it kill me? haha.

    Thanks
