Bach, J. S. - Air on a G String BWV 1068

Bach did write this in the key of D. From what I know, 'on a G string' part of the title comes from the fact that Bach wanted the main melody of the air to be played on the 4th string of the violin (G string) to create warmer & richer tone. Of course, when played on a guitar, all that goes right out the window! ;) Anyway, 'on a G string' does not refer to the key, but rather to the violin string.

You do realize that piece's name is Air on G string right?So i'd hope it would be played in the key of G.

This version is by far, the best description of Bach's Air in BWV 1068. All the other Guitar versions of this piece are in the Key of G. I'm not saying they're bad. It's just that it's not the right key to play it.
