Los Angeles 1994. Nadie interpreta Nessun Dorma como él.
06/09/07 Pavarotti nos ha dejado, aunque su legado SIEMPRE le mantendrá vivo. DEP.
kenkirbyuk: It's funny. A kid singing in a community chorus in ND is telling me who is good and who isn't. Little does he know, I have heard all the contemporary greats, both tenors and sopranos, sing at the Met these last 15 years. Pav, Domingo, Carerras, Alagna, etc. Pav is by far the greatest of any voice I have ever heard, either live or on recording. God rest his soul.

People are so assuming to think you have experienced nothing else, it's ridiculous...what offends me so much is that we know what we like having experienced so much but some people still insist on believing we are somehow still ill-informed. Almost as if we'll all say 'you're right, I've missed out, how stupid and devoid of taste we are. Thank you for educating us, please may we consult you in the future my wise friend'...I don't think so!

By ifyoureadthisyousuck [Affiliate User] 1218775631 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFinally Artisticz, Luciano's reply to the Bjorling comparsion demonstrates how humble he was, which in my eyes makes him even more magnificent. I made a comment (see earlier)saying how people come here to pick fights (like yourself) when we should be listening (not comparing) these great people. I have no time for people who argue about other people's taste, it's pointless...but I will give my opinion if someone else gives theirs. Pav was the greatest...in my opinion!
By kenkirbyuk [Affiliate User] 1218768124 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFirst of all, I didn't come to you with an *anthology* - an *anthology* is a collection of literary works. I gave an *analogy*; there is a subtle difference which you would recognise if you were educated. Secondly, I never came you, it was a general comment so don't be so self indulgent. Thirdly, I have heard so many artists and I think many are wonderful...NB. I had nothing derogatory to say about Bjorling - my comment was made to Bjorling fans posting their comments here to pav fans.

By chrissy1095 [Affiliate User] 1218739219 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveActually Jussi Bjorling is Manchester United in the Premiership. I'm a great big fan of Pavarotti but if you wanna hear a voice & a note hit then listen to "Che Manina" by Jussi Bjorling then come back to me with your stupid *anthology*. When Luciano Pavarotti was compared to Jussi Bjorling Luciano's reply was "Please, i'm only human" basically taking what you have type on youtube & made it completely worthless.
By Artisticz [Affiliate User] 1218725607 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemovePavarotti is the late 20th century OPERA GOD!
when he hits those sweet sweet notes it sends chills down your spine & you actually feel that an angel has come down from heaven to bless you personally. His voice Burrows deep down into your soul & then explodes into this force that feels like its gonna rip out of your chest.
rootbeer, your great love, Jussi, is on several sites here on YouTube. You should be on there, listening to him. Instead you are on Pav sites telling his fans he does not deserve the accolades that he gets. And you are? What was that again? Community choralist in North Dakota?

By Skaterkyle2008 [Affiliate User] 1218717433 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRootbeer, I have no need to defend my great love of Pavarotti. It is none of your business.
By chrissy1095 [Affiliate User] 1218710878 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveInteresting that you say I have a lot to learn, because all you can keep saying in defense of your great love Pavarotti is that I am jealous of him, and that Bjorling had a girly voice.
By rootbeer281 [Affiliate User] 1218709119 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRootbeer, Well, to come on to Pavarotti sites and begrudge him his fame and the adoration he so richly deserves denotes something.....what if not jealousy? We Pav fans would not begrudge Bjorling fans a thing. We know Pav is superior and would not waste our time or effort sniping at inferior tenors. Too busy listening to Pav.
By chrissy1095 [Affiliate User] 1218708813 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow could I be jealous of a famous, operatic tenor? I sing tenor in a community choir in North Dakota. I have no reason to be jealous of Luciano Pavarotti... In Bjorling's time, the technology did not exist for him to be able to lip sync. In fact, the only time they used sound systems was for radio and like presidential hearings and such.
I have never said that Pavarotti stinks, I merely said that in my opinion he is not as good as everyone thinks or says. He's great, but not that great.
Pavarotti was italian, he knew exactly what he sang , word by word and national temper...
also Maria Callas, who spoke itlian perfectly and lived and grew into italian culture..
excuse my bad an broken english
Rootbeer, We will never know if Bjorling would have lipsynched because sadly, he didn't live long. Cut his life short by drinking. Pav lip synched in Italy because that is standard practise there. That I know. And they were very ready to "expose" him for lip-synching at the Olympics when all the opera greats who have sung at opening and closing ceremonies admitted to lip-synching. The producers will not have it any other way. Your jealousy over Pav exceeds your devotion to Jussi.
By chrissy1095 [Affiliate User] 1218697652 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRootbeer, Unlike you, we were not born yesterday. I have listened to Bjorling many times. His pleasant but small voice cannot be compared to the voice of the great Luciano Pavarotti. THAT is WHY we are Pavarotti fans. We do not need your assistance to "broaden our spectrum". And we will not tolerate any disrespect to Pav. We do not go on Bjorling sites and say, "Listen to Pavarotti, Bjorling stinks" because we are considerate. You have a lot to learn.
