I dont think there is any difference between what say cung li does and some styles of kung fu. prove me that kung fu is all same stuff, and that not a single style of 3000 + kung fu styles is like muiy thai, or kickboxing, or other such more ring excepted styles. you have a lot of style to go through to prove that not one is like kickboxing or other such styles.

same here. i believe the main reason a fight goes to the ground even vs. an untrained goon is they fail to knock one out, then the fight deteriorates to ground grappling. unfortunately, Big John wont be there.

there is nothing unique about kung fu either. its like any martial art group of styles. there are punching kicking and grappling. not all 3000+ styles of kung fu are silly moves, overly wide stance, and animal forms. so stop talking out your ass about something you watch in the movies. there is a huge different because movies and Demo's and what they really do. If all you have done is MMA how do you know what kung fu is really like?

In a street fight, even if the guy is not a "trained" mma fighter, grappling is likely. If you can't grapple, and the guy is stronger or weighs more than you, you're likely going to have problems. And how do you know that 3% of the fights you encounter on the street involved trained fighters? Where do you get that from? You're just pulling S**t out of your ass at this point.

San shou was invented in the 20th Century; nothing ancient about it. MMA is just fighting that allows grappling/kicking/punching. The notion that no holds barred fights should include such thing date back at least to the ancient Greeks in the West; so no, it's not a new concept. He is using the same strikes/kicks as any boxer/kickboxer; nothing unique or kungfewie about it. Kungfewie moves are represented in its silly forms and stances; you don't see ANY of those when Cung fights.

If they did, they would actually understand half of the moves they do (which is why Kung Fu is usually since as a crappy martial art). However, its concept of the centerline is something Martial Artist should look at. In a fight of course, you aren't going to care about how you are going to hit them...you are going to hit them in any way that is natural to you. Oh, and MMA has been dubbed as a sport, so get over it folks, stop calling it a fight when there are freakin' regulations.
