wonder what they kit would be worth now? assuming youcould get it with original ellington and bellson front bass skins.

My all-time favorite drummer and LOVE the double bass!!

He is the grandfather of double bass.

he's very very solid and full for flare and originality
it always comes down to tie between him and buddy rich
if only we had more singl kick bellson perfomances&double kick rich ones however its on tube>audio of buddy playing double kick (wonderfully on par frm example i herd wiv louie&they were great friends famously) il b better informed with a single kick louie solo but even then - no-one sounds like buddy but then no-one sounds like bellson.buddy sounded insane.bellson sounds exuberant.

My father always told me"listen to Belson and Krupa,if you really want to learn to play with heart" I can't help but see that when I see clips like this.They played with and from the heart,they are an insparation to ANY drummer that wants to be taken seriously.

Exactly this clip was one of the main and immediate reasons to become a professional drummer when I saw it on TV when I was 11 yrs old...
