  • The muscle created ...

The muscle created by the sport is very lean and stretched. They also end up being all muscle and no fat because of how hard they work. It just looks different from the muscles you get playing soccer and basketball...It's a beautiful sport. I wish I was that flexible.

  • No. That's not okay ...

No. That's not okay. Not even in olympic sports should people be put down in order to train harder. I'm a competitive swimmer and have been for nine years; I'm also very serious about my sport. Sports are at least half, if not more than half, mental. There's no way an athelete could reach their full potential if given negative reinforcement like that.

I get real jealous when I see those tiny six year olds doing everything effortlessly. Amazing though.

I'm a gymnast but i've only been doing it for 4 years and it's a bloody strain to do the splits for goodness sake.

This sport is probably the most demanding physically. The muscle, and flexibility you need for this sport is so demanding. You end up being all muscle and no fat. They are so dedicated though to go through what they do. Amazing what they can do though.

  • Well, rhythmic ...

Well, rhythmic gymnastics is a serious sport, Olympic sport, and these girls train for 8 hours a day from around age 6... I'm not saying I approve of the fact that this is a part of what top gymnasts go through, I'm just saying RG is a bit more serious than cheerleading and the gymnasts make huge sacrafices.
