The hennessey viper got tuned specifically for that time trial which explain why the two big turbochargers will kick at 160 mph. Basically using big turbocharger at the start can be penalizing because of the lag. It should not be a surprise as the Venom was specifically configured for that time trial.

search for it in youtube and you will see a video as it beats veyron in 0-200mph time trail, but still veyron is the greatest, you can do all this performance data with the confort of your bedroom bed :)

Well the formula 1 doesn't specify speaker size, so the Buggy's probably getting a bit of torque from that Dieter Burmester sound system.

F1 cars meant to go faster around corners than any other cars, top end speed is nt their main priority. One thing ill tell you, a Veyron won't beat and F1 around a track. Theres a vid on YouTube showing the F1 team getting up to 400+ kilometer speeds.

Anyways, the Veyron is a platform for the VW engineers to go wild. If companies like Porsche and Ferrari wanted to, they could build cars to rival the Veyron, bt because if restrictions they cant. Top speed isnt everything.

For the retards that are going on about how F1 cars are faster, please stop. James May was just stating that F1 cars top out at about 230mph (at Monza) as a referance so people could get an idea of how fast he is traveling IN A ROAD CAR. By the way F1 is weak sauce in terms of acceleration and top speed look up Sammy Miller and Vanishing Point if you want to see real acceleration 0-100mph in 0.45 seconds compaired to 4.5 seconds for F1.
