anime means "japanese animation", avatar was animated with a japanese... "feeling"

so anime can't be made in america is what people are saying... but isn't anime just an abrebviation for "animation" and isn't avatar animated? or is anime a new word that only means animated series made in japan?

this is my favorite anime i wish they would have made it longer or continued it but hey gotta love the soundtrack story line and just the fighting
