great to see buckley flounder - his famous wit does nothing to detract from the fact that chomsky clearly has a grasp of history that is superior to his own and in fact makes him look all the more silly. great clip.

Chomsky is an academic, that is his job. So saying he is all talk no action is a meaningless statement. Saying his observations are "empty" is a baseless judgement. He is the pre-eminant critic of power structures in general and US foreign policy specifically in the world today, and many times more insightful and intelligent and informed than Buckley.

You can say what you want about either side, but I wish and beg for discussions like this would occur on a regular basis on our news channels.

Ahh, what joy to see Dr. Chomsky tear into Buckley. Mr. Buckley, much like his more conservative counterparts, generally has little interest in what they perceive as trivial things, like facts.
