I thought it was transmitted through the air. It escaped a room of the Preston monkey house and killed all the monkeys within the building. Or is it just in the case of Ebola Reston?

Ebola is a filovirus. There are 4 types of filoviruses. Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, Ebola Reston, and MArburg. Ebola Zaire kills 9 out of 10 of its victims. Marburg kills 1 out of 4. Ebola Sudan kills 6 10. I am not sure about Ebola Reston but it is very closely related to Ebola Zaire. Read "The Hot Zone". It explains it all and is a great book.

Such statements are indicitive of a violent mind. If you kill 50% of the world's population, you could also kill a person who would later cure the virus.

Though it only appears with symptoms in monkeys, it does infect humans. The keepers at reston tested positive but they showed no obvious symptoms.
It is also believed that the other strains can be airborne and still infectious, but no records of this exist beyond a lab test.
