I opted to uncensor the song, INCLUDING the monologue, so if a little bit of profanity offends you, please find another video to watch on YouTube. You have been warned!

This is another of my video entries into the ScoreHero How Good Can You Sound Video Challenge, found here:

http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11205

100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Down With the Sickness by Disturbed as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.

As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Dave Draiman are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.

I'm not really sure why this song is rated as being "impossible" difficulty in Rock Band 2. It's actually not that hard at all the way it's charted, even with full lyrics.

As with my video for Indestructible, the pitchlines in the notechart are a bit longer than necessary, so I had to slur a few of the words instead of the clipped staccato chanting that Dave Draiman does during the chorus, so advance apologies for the somewhat blurry vocals during the chorus.

For scoring purists, yes, I chose not to go after the cowbell percussion points during the monologue. It's too hard to try and keep beat while doing those off-timed lyrics, so I just shouted the lyrics into the mic and let whatever percussion notes got triggered get scored (still managed over 80% surprisingly enough). I figured it would be more entertaining to have the full lyrics there instead of having you all just watch me tap along with those lame cowbells which aren't actually in the song anyhow...

  • I don't have Guitar ...

I don't have Guitar Hero: World Tour. Not particularly interested in it since the vocals scoring on it is totally borked. Getting 100% on GHWT is almost impossible except for all-talky songs, and it encourages "robotic" singing that flies directly in the face of everything I try to do on my YouTube channel.

  • I'm actually not ...

I'm actually not screaming in this song at any point in this song. The monologue is the only point where I come close, and it's more of a loud speaking that comes closer to growling than shouting.

  • Mmm. I never go all ...

Mmm. I never go all out on scoring when I record videos. Too much robotic singing, and overdrive activations right in front of phrases ruins the aesthetics, and for what? A couple thousand points? :P Pass.

Is the M.I.C. that silly all-in-one controlle/microphone hybrid? Not interested. I've heard it has very low sensitivity, and that's just unacceptable.

Don't worry, I'm on SH too. "Pitch robots" probably isn't the best term, maybe something like "not completely tone deaf" is better.

  • Harmonix seems to ...

Harmonix seems to think that short, choppy words are very difficult, probably since the majority of people who sing on Rock Band aren't pitch robots like Scorehero players. Just look at Chop Suey.

Oh, and the monologue was awesome :)
