A journey through the years. Kate sang this song on an album by the Irish musician Donal Lunny, who played bouzouki on Kate's Night of the Swallow.

It honors the memory of the women dedicated to Ireland, specifically the Irish nationalist movement. Kate's version is by far my favourite.

  • This is beautiful. ...

This is beautiful. There's always been a lot more to Kate Bush than meets the eye. This was a ringtone on an old Sagem mobile I used to use. It was called 'Women of Ireland'. Mike Oldfield did a lovely version of it on 'Voyager'. I also saw The Chieftains playing it on a replay of The Old Grey Whistle Test - just after I'd picked it as a ringtone on the old phone. Timeless! :)
