Are the ten commandments, written by God's own finger, on two tablets of stone - made obsolete? Were people in the old covenant saved by the law or through grace? This presentation should give us clear answers from the Bible.

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:"

"Do we then make VOID the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we ESTABLISH the law." Romans 3:31

"What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." Romans 6:15

"Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good." Romans 7:12

"For THIS is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my LAWS into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" Hebrews 8:10

"And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." Revelation 11:19

  • Perhaps my satire ...

Perhaps my satire was a little too dry, because it appears that some have missed the point. What I intended to say was that the 10 commandments (with the exception of theft & murder) are uninforcible as law in a civil, democratic society. It is dangerous to believe otherwise.

  • If you should care ...

If you should care to study with an open heart you might learn that the USA, represented in prophecy as the second beast of Revelation 13 will come in conflict with its founding principles and soon to end up as the sure word of prophecy states:

"And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Rev. 13:14

    First beast: The papacy.
    Second beast: The USA.

  • Myfriend, it is the ...

Myfriend, it is the beast powers of Revelation and Daniel that enforces people to worship and obey according to their dogmas. Jesus as according to Matt 22,21 and more passages makes it clear that church and state are not to unite affairs. The USA is founded upon this principle of separating church and state. This man and the church he represents, seventh-day adventism, are in harmony with this principle.
The motivating principle of the ten C's are: If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

  • So, if American law ...

So, if American law should be based on Judau-Christian values, and particularly the 10 Commandments, then shouldnt envy be a crime? How about idolatry? Should one be forced to pay a fine if they take the Lords name in vein? If I don't honor my father and/or mother, should I be prosecuted in a court of law? If one doesnt follow the New Testaments summary: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind do I belong in prison? Please enlighten me.
