also, since it was an impromtu type joke they didnt laugh either... lots of jokes on late night shows have clear cut punch lines so the aud knows when to laugh, and also they rehearse a lot of stuff before the taping with the audience so they know when and when not to make sounds...

the person who laughed was the chick sitting next to Johnny, the other guest of the night, i dunno who it was but i can tell its a lady (you also see her hand at one point very briefly). i can tell bc of the clarity of the laugh that the person is wearing a microphone. now, why the audience didnt laugh i dont rightly know, i can only guess that since it wasnt THAT funny of a joke, as in it wasnt CLEAR CUT that it was a joke, that the audience didnt laugh, and the applause light wasnt on...

Sorry, being from Mexico I don't really know this show, why was it that when Johnny Carson said the "No respect" joke, when presenting Rodney, only one person laughed?

The only place Rodney gets respect is in heven ... Um Mabye.

Even though he didn't realize he had millions of fans who had respect for him! I bet he's with all the comedy greats who sadly passed away, and they're up there laughing, joking and sharing all the punch-lines, just having a great time!
