The Fabulous Fungi

Morels are the most sought after in the U.S. I have picked some Lactarius Deliciosus, but more common is Lactarius Thyninos. It adds a pretty color to the dish also.

It is fantastic to see that there are so many edible mushroom species... I personally can recognice about 12 species of edible species in my country Cyprus... It is funny to see from the internet that boletus species are so popular in other countries while very few people pick them here.. Instead, the most popular wild mushrooms here are lactarius deliciosus, russula delica and pleurotus eryngii...

looks tasty,I have only gone mushroom hunting once in florida and I only found a handfull of red and orange deciver mushrooms.

Morels are the only mushroom most people hunt here. Mushroom hunting is not as popular as it is in Europe and other countries. Don't understand it! I live to hunt mushrooms , fish and hunt.Thanks for watching!

People seem to pick a lot of morels in america. Here in Sweden we pick more false morel, it's deadly poisonous though, but it's tradition, like the japanese eating fugu fish. Everyone here (out in the country in Sweden, even people from the cities) pick and eat wild mushrooms.
