    I'm glad I found this. Now I can show my mother-in-law that signing to both of my children is fine. I sign to them so that they can understand my deaf sister. My youngest son is also partially deaf, and it's hard for us. Seeing more babies signing will give him more friends. I wish everyone signed with their children.

    SEE isn't a language. ASL is a language. By the merits of knowing two language, ASL clearly outweighs SEE.

    It isn't impossible to be bilingual, you know. Heck, in most European countries, it isn't uncommon for a person to be Trilingual.

    Nice to see the news doing a story on this. Signing with your baby/toddler is wonderful however you do it. Signing Exact English might be a better route than ASL only because it will not only give them signs to communicate, it will be another way of teaching them the English Language.
