Yes, and they do NOT have retractable claws like other cats, they have dog like claws, so they are in their own category

cheetahs can purr! and they are not big cats... and neighter small cats... they are something between. :)

Cougar is considered 'small' cat. Cougar is the biggest of the small cats,it is the biggest cat that can purr.
True big cats do not purr: leopard, jaguar, lion, tiger, cheetah

Interesting, I thought the bigger cats couldn't purr, whereas the smaller ones couldn't roar, but I guess there are exceptions.

She has a huge outdoor cage too, so she gets tired there during the day and then is willing to just be nice/sweet in the house and relax with us.

how are you able to keep a cougar in your house? (not legally, as in how do you keep it fed etc)
