  • oh look another ...

oh look another thing only wealthy people will be able to enjoy and exploit, as cool as this is, i'm not that excited cause I'm pretty sure average people will not be able to enjoy this unless they blow their whole savings for a ticket. I wonder what kinda insurance they have if it blows up or something goes wrong? I better start saving up now!

  • Not much different ...

Not much different than Chuck Yeager's approach in 1950 under the belly of a B-52. Get high enough with an aerodynamic jet to propel the spacecraft the rest of the way. All components are re-usable. Unlike a bone jarring high g-force ride on the back of a volitile Rocket that can't be re-used.

  • If we wish to ...

If we wish to rectify the inequality on this planet well we'll have to utilize the resources else where in the solar system.
Space exploration is something we must do if we are to survive in the long run.
Just to give everyone a fuel cell car or at the very least make sure every engine has a catalytic converter we will have to learn how to mine asteroids to get enough platinum and palladium.
Also lets not for get solar power sats up in GEO so we can get off fossil fuels.

  • If there were ...

If there were enough space elevators ('fountains of paradise' / 'cities in the sky') they could beam down energy to the planets surface from solar panels - no more pollution. You soon will be able to eject toxic waste into space at low cost....communication and repair of satellites will be cheaper. Oh and soon you will (predicted in 200 years) be able to control weather!! No More Deserts, droughts, floods or starvation Scarce resources coul be mined in space and sent to earth easily.
