no not at all I guess she did that because doctors do it to human babies, to S**k oout the mucous and crap from the air ways. However puppies don't need those. the mother of the puppies takes care of everything, eating the umbilical cord and the placenta. gross I know but I'm witness it, not too bad. the blue thing is needed cause there is stuff stuck inside the puppies thoat and it could sufficate if you dont take it out and thats a tool so it is easier.
